Forklifts Group is a nationwide material handling equipment supplier, with offices in Ohio, New York, California, and Nevada. They approached the Creative Lab for a website rebuild…with an amazing twist.
In the past we've been called upon to combine two websites into one. This usually occurs due to company acquisitions. In this case, Forklifts Group wanted to combine THREE websites into one!
The combination needed to reflect a major expansion of the company's area of operations. Namely moving from a Midwest/East Coast presence to a nationwide service area.
Building a Powerful New Website from the Successes of 3 Others
If the new website wants to target a nationwide market, then it must address readers from all U.S. regions.
Each of the three existing websites did this with their respective content. The best approach to combination, therefore, was to begin by merging all the content. This took careful analysis of each page, discussions with the customer’s sales team, and audience research.
While we conducted the merge, our developer & designer worked out the new website’s layouts and user experience. Rather than start from scratch – and risk alienating one of the target audiences – they ‘evolved’ the design from common elements among all three existing websites’ branding.

These processes worked incredibly well! Using them we built a well-populated website with fresh metadata and new capabilities, all focused on the target audiences’ current needs.
