Sometimes you just want to read a blog post (or a newsletter) on your phone. But things get in the way – popups, ads, weird formatting.
The solution? Use Reader Mode.
This is a way to strip out fancy styling & inserts from news articles & blogs. It makes the content easy to read.
Setting up Reader Mode only takes a few steps, depending on your phone type.
iPhone (using Safari browser)
- In Safari, click the aA icon on the left side of the address bar.
- Choose ‘Show Reader More’ from the menu.
- The browser view changes to Reader More.
- To exit Reader Mode, repeat these steps.
Android (all browsers)
- Install the Reading Mode app from Google’s Play Store.
- In the app settings, tap the “Reading Mode Shortcut” switch to enable it.
- A pop-up will ask you to confirm this. Click Allow.
- A floating button will appear on the side of your screen. Tapping this will activate Reading Mode.
Happy computing!
