FPA, an investment management firm in Los Angeles, has a decades-earned reputation in the financial services industry. In 2017, they decided to combine two older websites into one totally new website. This new website would use a Fund-based layout, so their customers could quickly check on their investments anytime, anywhere.
We built a fully-customized, responsive design to accomplish that goal. The new FPA.com has more layers than any other website we've developed to date. It's a powerhouse of a site…one we felt deserved an award.
The W3 Awards judges agreed, awarding FPA.com two Awards in its 2018 lineup.
Investment Data, Presented in a Panorama
Each of the company's 7 investment funds has its own page within which investors can monitor the Fund's recent activity, statistics, portfolio holdings, and related news.
We built every aspect of these "fund pages" to function seamlessly on mobile. FPA also wanted to add an extensive FAQ, an Investors' Reference section for documents, and easy-to-use funds literature request forms.
With all of these tools, it's no surprise FPA.com won two W3 Awards:
- Website Categories – Financial Services (Silver)
- Website Features Visual Appeal - Utility (Silver)
Other winners included the City of Tampa, AARP, ConocoPhillips, and John F. Kennedy University.

W3 Awards 101
The W3 Awards recognize creative excellence on the Web. This year, their 13th season, they received more than 5,000 entries—from websites to videos, apps to social media campaigns.
Who submits these entries? From W3Award.com:
"In its thirteenth season, the W³ Awards received over 5,000 entries from Advertising agencies, PR Firms, Interactive Agencies, In-house creative professionals, Web Designers, Graphic Designers, and Web Enthusiasts."
To win a W3 Award, an organization must have created an original, easy-to-use, and top-quality website, video, social content, or mobile app. Winners receive a Silver, Gold, or Best in Show Award and recognized on the W3 Awards website.
