How "Magpie" became Alpha Dog Around Here
In 1998, Robert Douglas founded a small database hosting company called Magpie Internet Communications. He named it after his first employee
Magpie, Robert's black Labrador puppy. Since then, Magpie has given the company, and this website, a loyal centerpiece from which to grow.
Magpie Internet's customer base has grown every year since, adding divisions and specialists as our clients needed more services. Supporting networks, designing websites, installing new servers, etc. Eventually we decided the company needed an updated name; one that would fit our expanded, IT-encompassing structure while retaining our tail-wagging mascot.
Thus "PlanetMagpie" was born.
