U.S. Government Debating a Huawei "Purge" – Move Forward Now!

Our telecommunications grid still uses thousands of Huawei devices. A bill before the House would allocate funds to remove & replace them. Here's why this is a great move for our country.

Remember Huawei? The telecommunications manufacturer labeled a threat to U.S. national security?

Even with a ban in effect, the U.S. telecom grid still has plenty of Huawei equipment operating. More than enough to continue gathering data on millions of Americans.

In September, lawmakers introduced a bill to work on that.

U.S. lawmakers propose $1 billion fund to replace Huawei equipment – Reuters (9-24-19)

The bill is labeled HR 4459, the "Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act of 2019."

It provides $1 billion in funding for removal & replacement of Huawei equipment used by small telecommunications providers nationwide. Full text of bill.

This is an excellent action, for many reasons. It provides a short-term jobs stimulus, aids national security for all Americans, and improves our nation's overall cybersecurity position.

HR 4459 is currently "Introduced" in the House. No votes have taken place yet. The bill does have bipartisan support.

While we don't generally like extra government spending, this funding produces a direct economic and socio-political benefit. As such, we urge you to join us in calling for HR 4459 to pass.

Call your House Representative and ask them to support HR 4459 in a vote. Use this link to find your representative.
