Secretary Panetta Warns of Cyberattacks on the Horizon

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta recently spoke about cybersecurity, saying we are not fully prepared if a large-scale cyberattack were to hit the U.S.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta thinks we aren't. He's warned of a "cyber-Pearl Harbor" in a recent New York Times piece.

Cyberattacks are nothing new. Large datacenters are attacked all the time from overseas hackers, militant groups, and aggressive nations in search of information. PlanetMagpie's own datacenter has even seen attacks (though our security rebuffed them).

Mr. Panetta is warning about a large-scale cyberattack, which could target key points in America's digital infrastructure. Power plants, gas pipelines, even transportation networks...all could be at risk without additional safeguards.
