Apple to Begin Manufacturing in the U.S. in 2013

Apple has announced that they'll begin manufacturing a new Mac computer in the U.S. starting in 2013.
Apple was one of the major businesses we referenced in our recent white paper, "The Argument for ReShoring American IT".  In it we showed that offshoring IT work such as hardware manufacturing damages the U.S. economy and risks our national security.

This week, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that one of the next Mac computers would be "Made in America." Apple is committing to a new U.S. manufacturing facility for 2013, which should provide a large number of skilled manufacturing and related jobs for U.S. workers.

The announcement essentially means Apple is joining the ReShoring trend. Bringing jobs back to the U.S. PlanetMagpie supports their efforts 100%, and hopes Apple's move is echoed by other major U.S. corporations.
