Are You Marketing Online? If Not, Time to Get in the Game
XYZ Corp. has a marketing challenge. They're adding a new service and want to announce it to their existing customers. But they can't decide how to approach them, and they want to know which customers will use the new service the most.
They call their web host, PlanetMagpie. We suggest that they try email marketing, and run A/B testing on two landing pages linked to from the e-blast. Page A introduces the new service, and talks about how it works with XYZ's existing products. Page B introduces the service too, but gives customers reasons why they should try it out right away.
Using the
Google Analytics web statistics software, XYZ can then track the results and see what their customers prefer to hear. To cover the bases, we also recommend adding regional SEO keywords to their main site for the new service.
Turns out Page B pulls in 15% more responses. XYZ's new service is off to a good start.
Online marketing will grow to a $26 billion-dollar industry by 2010. Ecommerce sales are expected to
grow at about 15% annually until 2012 (Forrester). Add the Web to your marketing efforts
now and reap the profits of capitalizing on a growing trend.
